September Breezes

September breezes blew us over to Colorado. A time to spend with family. A time to squeeze my granddaughter and hold tight to my daughter who is ready to fly off to New Zealand. A time to sit and chat about life with my daughter in law and my son. A time to enjoy my youngest daughter, admiring how much she has grown up. A time to be with family.

If I allow myself to think of saying goodbye again to my dearest Kailynn, my heart constricts. I brush away the thought only to be met by the thought of saying 'good bye' to Katrina. 

"Tell me again, why is it you want to go to New Zealand?"

"Mom, I told you...God told me to go there!"

"Yes, I know...okay...I am going to miss you."

"I know, mom."

I should be immune to good byes by now. Unfortunately there is no vaccine for good byes. Each time I have to say good  bye, it feels like the first time I have had to do it.
