December proved to be wrapped up tightly in festivities. Delightful unwrapping of dinners, tea parties and time spent with family and friends. Church related activities, each one bringing us closer together. Laughter and joy filled every occasion.
The Mother Daughter Tea Party put on my the Ladies Fellowship at the church turned out to be a major success. Our first attempt at putting on such an event, we were all pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the time was.
The weeks sped by with all the normal hustle and bustle of life. Everyone looked forward to the Christmas Dinner. What a dinner it was! The committee outdid themselves in putting on a spectacular event. The decorations transformed the room. The food, as always, was in abundance.
At the end of the evening, people were talking about 'next year's Christmas dinner.' We all realized we need a bigger hall next year.
How wonderful to watch Kailynn enjoy her first Christmas. Her greatest treasure was the tricycle we bought her. She loved riding around the living room and through the kitchen on the little tricycle. Of course she couldn't ride on her own, she needed us to push her. Her face would light up every time she drove the kitchen and saw her family clapping for her.
The icing on the cake was the Watch night service. The church met together to welcome the New Year in. Each of us were filled with excitement, despite the late hour. We reflected on what the past year had given us. We looked forward to what the New Year would bring. No matter what had taken place in 2010, we now were being presented with a brand new year to accomplish our goals, dreams and visions.
Herein lies a labyrinth of memories...past and present... this is best navigated by going to the very beginning of the blog... it is in the first posts, from March 2008, in which the heart of this blog is found
